LONDON, UK: On July 1st, Canada turns 150. Great Britain, along with France, were two important founding fathers when we confederated in 1867. A lot has changed in 150 years but one thing that will forever stay the same is that the English an Scottish taught our nation how to party.
So as a thank you we are inviting London to come out and help us celebrate.
We have chosen 150 venues across the UK and challenged them to create a taste of Canada for one night only, with 100 of these being in London.
The venue that puts on the best Canadian party and knocks our wool socks off will win a trip for two to Canada. From poutine to maple syrup, Bieber vs Celine Dion karaoke battles to a special concert by Canadian punk rock band PUP, there will be something for everyone.
Chairman of Project Moose, Craig Cohon, a proud Canadian that has lived in London for 17 years, says “Londoners all have has some connection to Canada— they have worked, travelled or studied in Canada. Many have a Canadian cousin, a Canadian friend, an exlover, current lover or potential future lover. Even London’s Mayor has a bromance with Prime Minister Trudeau. We couldn’t let this occasion pass without doing something big, bold and fun. London is open. These parties are for London and all Londoners. Thank you for helping create Canada 150 years ago”.
Some great brands that love Canada and London are supporting Project Moose including Stoli Vodka, Canada Goose and the Four Seasons Hotels - and Spotify has created a special Canadian themed playlist that will be featured on July 1st.
